Interview with Sofia on her transformation Journey

It’s no secret Sofia, you are an inspiration to many! You’re a busy Mom of 2, working full time, and loving wife, AND you’ve made the time for yourself and your own goals. It’s not always an easy process, so tell us more about your incredible story:

1. What inspired you to make the change? What was the ‘final straw’ that pushed you to take immediate action?

My inspiration came from the many fitness icons and moms on social media. There are plenty of moms out there who work hard and push themselves to achieve great things with their bodies, and I was inspired by them as living proof that you can ‘get your body back’ after having a baby.

The ‘final straw’ was seeing a picture taken by one of my favourite photographers, Brian Weiss in Toronto, and I thought to myself, “I can do that. I can look like that!”. I had been thinking about doing a photoshoot for 4 months, and in that moment I emailed both Margherita and Brian to move my vision into reality!

2. How did you feel during the beginning stages?  How long did it take you to ‘catch your groove’ with the new routine?

Initially looking at all the plans, workouts and macronutrient information, I felt overwhelmed. I took things day by day, and read Margherita’s guide over and over again until I felt comfortable with everything. It was actually exciting once I got over the initial shock and feeling of “what did I get myself in to!” I love planning things so it was fun for me to set out my schedule for workouts as well as plan my weekly meals.

It took me about two weeks to feel comfortable with what I was doing.

Sofia, we know ‘life happens’ and each of us have unique responsibilities that require our energy. And, we know that when it comes to our goals and creating success in our lives, it takes our commitment and dedication no matter the cards we are dealt! As a mom, wife, and full time working woman, tell us:

3. How did you manage to create this balance in your life that would keep you on the road to success?

Having a plan was crucial in creating and maintaining balance in my life. My day was mapped out for me hourly; by doing this I was able to focus all my attention and energy on the current task and really be in the moment. My key to success was not to take things too seriously. I was 100% all in this process, but I tried not to let it consume my life. I made time in my day to play with my daughter or sit and chat with my husband, and this kept me grounded.

4. What kept you going when times got tough, and all odds seemed against you?

The support from my husband kept me going through this whole process. Margherita also helped me to keep pushing through by constantly reassuring me to trust the process and to not fixate so much on numbers.

Overall, the transformation you’ve achieved is far more than physical, it is definitely a journey of mental growth and self-discovery. Let’s talk more about how this process and how it’s shaped who you are today..

5. In what way would you say are you most different from the girl in the “before” picture?

The girl in the before picture lacked confidence and self-love. She was self-conscious and didn’t know how to take a compliment. Now, I am completely confident in myself and love my body –  I can appreciate the woman that I am and what I am capable of. On the day of my photoshoot I set out to be confident, sexy, and strong – I feel that not only did I accomplish that through my photos but I also acquired those traits and embody them wholeheartedly.

6. What is the greatest lesson you learned throughout the process?

The greatest lesson I learned throughout this process is that it is okay to make yourself a priority. While my daughter and husband will always come first, I have now added myself to that list and make sure to make myself a priority – I hope to teach my daughter this important lesson when she grows older!

7. What would you tell other women, like yourself, who are wanting to make the change but haven’t yet?

If you are thinking about making a change in your life regardless of what it is, go for it! You owe it to yourself to do something that you have always wanted to do. Sure it may be uncomfortable at first but in the end you will be so happy and proud that you did it and were able to accomplish your goal. To all the moms out there; know that you can get your body back after having a baby. You don’t have to be content in a body you don’t love. Yes it will take a lot of hard work, but you will feel amazing at the end once you have accomplished what you set out to do.

8. Any final thoughts you would like to share?

I would like to thank Margherita for coaching and supporting me throughout this entire process. She truly is an amazing coach but most importantly an amazing person. Without her, I know for sure I wouldn’t be able to achieve the level of leanness I was able to get to. She is very knowledgeable and has taught me so much. I am forever grateful for her help and recommend her to anyone looking to make a change with constant support and positivity.

Sofia, congratulations on this incredible transformation. Your work ethic shines through – the inner and outer resiliency you’ve built through this experience was a beautiful to witness. You are the most powerful and radiant woman,  I am so grateful to have teamed up with you on this journey!

XO – Margherita
