Everything is energy.
In India, its called “prana”, in Chinese, “chi”. In any language, it is this vital life force energy that connects us to our environment, spiritually to our experience, and allows for us to live vibrantly as we create and manifest the reality we desire.
Life force energy is high vibrational, meaning it increases our energetic frequency – also referred to as our “light body” – it becomes essential for living a healthy and happy life. Yes, our bodies are quite literally encapsulated in frequencies of light; this is our human energy field, and directly connects to our personal experience.
The emotions we harbour each day influence us vibrationally, with direct influence over our overall state of our wellness and health. The higher our vibration, the more life force energy we can access – this provides us with a greater ability to tap into our naturally abundant states. The lower our frequency, the more susceptible we become to anxiety, depression, apathy, illness and disease.
If you want to dive in deeper with this, check out David R. Hawkins book “Transcending Levels of Consciousness: The Stairway to Enlightenment” – where he goes into the full spectrum of ego expression through human emotion; each one connected to a numerical value of energy frequency, along with the level of consciousness we experience in each state.
As life force moves through our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies, it activates our light body for ascension. Ascension is the term coined to our human evolution and expansion in consciousness – both individually and on a global level.
We are living through a very exciting time; as the Earth frequency is elevating, mother Gaia is inviting those who are ready to join her in levelling up.
How can we be ready?
I’m glad you asked 🙂 because we have a LOT of control over the opportunity to experience the most out of this transcendental time. Life force energy is directly influenced by our diet and lifestyle choices, specifically the quality and types of foods we consume.
You’ve heard it before, “you are what you eat”, but when you consider food as animate energy that fuels our experience, you can begin to understand its affect on your body in an entirely new way.
Think of food as having PURPOSE; every choice will take you closer to your health and wellbeing, or further away from it. Depending on your goals (health, fitness, expanding consciousness, etc.), there is a wide spectrum of food that will support you in evolving your human potential.
While I like to stay away from labelling food as “good” or “bad” – I believe all food has a purpose at one time or another – I will instead touch upon the subject in terms of energy, carrying either a high or low vibrational force.
High vibrational foods are those as close to their natural state as possible; they are organic, and free from preservatives, pesticides, and essentially human interference. These foods carry a greater level of light than density; when consumed they increase our own energy fields and light body frequencies, therefore fuelling our life force, consciousness, and abundant states.
Examples of high vibrational foods are: organic raw veggies, root veggies, leafy greens and fresh fruits, nuts and seeds like quinoa, legumes, and superfoods like turmeric and spirulina. For protein, it is imperative to find organic quality that is sustainably sourced; a free range, happy life on a farm, and raised without the use of hormones or antibiotics. It is also important to set your own intentions of thanks and blessings to the animal who has sacrificed their life for you.
Low vibrational foods have been altered in some way; they are laden with chemicals, genetically modified, or “created” in labs. It is the processing that lessens the energetic attributes and quality of the product – quite literally destroying the “light” and killing our food well before it lands on our plate. When consumed frequently and in excess, these low vibrational foods become very toxic; negatively impacting our physical body, emotions, mental environment, and conscious connection.
Examples of low vibrational foods are: fast food chains, whole wheat or white bread and flour, refined sugar, conventional dairy, margarine, pre-prepared meals, frozen dinners, pre-made sauces, dressings, or condiments, and any products that have gone under any processing, such as the commonly used “hydrolization”.
To fuel our potential and animate our bodies with vital life force energy, high vibrational foods will support and connect to each of our energy centres – also known as our 7 chakra systems.
The chakras are the 7 main energy centres of the body, starting from the base of the spine to the top of the head.
The word “chakra” literally translates to wheel; to create a visual for each chakra, imagine a wheel of energy spinning above each centre – this is where matter and consciousness meet. Every time you consume high vibrational food, the light body of the food connects to the energy of each chakra system – boosting it to keeping us healthy and aligned to our abundant states. Superfoods in particular are of the highest vibrational force; they carry some of the highest nutrient values and have very strong healing properties above others.
Food is energy, and we become what we eat. For thousands of years, ancients knew how to fuel each chakra system by colour coding foods to their energetic match. For example, the muladhara, or root chakra, is associated with the colour red – therefore bright red foods like tomatoes or “root” vegetables like beets are a perfect pairing. Below is a list of the 7 chakras, the organ systems they connect to, and foods that you can choose to support each one.
Also note that any imbalance we may experience is associated with each chakra; any illness begins with blocked energy in specific systems. For example, if you’ve been suppressing your voice in some way or another – it’s a good idea to “feed” your throat chakra, which governs your communication and authentic expression.
Whenever you feel off balance mentally or emotionally, it’s a wonderful idea to support what you’re feeling with what you’re eating. Here’s how.
First Chakra: Muladhara or Root Chakra
Safety & Trust.
This is the energy centre that houses our sense of security, stability, and basic needs of survival.
Location: base of spine
Body Connection: regulates our reproductive system. Our flight or fight response also governs this chakra; when F/F is constantly evoked by stress, we block the flow of vital life force energy in this chakra which lowers our light body frequency.
Healing foods: tomatoes, red peppers, cayenne pepper powder, beats, parsnips, radishes, radicchio, red kidney beans, red apples, raspberries, strawberries, pomegranate, etc.
Superfood: whole goji berries
Second Chakra: Swadhistana or Sacral Chakra
Creativity & Sexuality.
This is the energy centre connected to all emotional matters, relationships, as well as our sexual and creative expression.
Location: sitting above the root chakra, the sacral chakra is located deep in the navel.
Body Connection: regulates our sexual organs, adrenal glands, immune system and metabolism. This chakra can become blocked by any toxic relationships, or sexual and emotional repression. Creative blocks are also a result of an imbalance in the sacral chakra.
Healing foods: salmon, squash, pumpkin, carrots, orange peppers, mangoes, oranges, apricots, etc.
Superfood: freeze dried goji berry powder, turmeric root.
Third Chakra: Manipura or Solar Plexus Chakra
Inner Power & Wisdom.
This energy centre is the source of our personal power; including self-esteem, confidence, and willpower. This governs how we show up in the world – it can be related to our vibrancy.
Location: above sacral, mid torso from the navel to the breast bone
Body Connection: This chakra regulates our pancreas and metabolism. When we feel low confidence or self-esteem, we can be sure our solar plexus is out of balance.
Healing foods: wild rice, farro, chick peas, organic gluten free oats, lentils, lemon, yellow peppers, yellow beets, bananas, cantaloupe, pineapple, etc.
Superfood: Nutritional yeast, Maca powder, turmeric root or powder, ginger.
Fourth Chakra: Anahata or Heart Chakra
Governs our source of love and connection; serving as a bridge between our body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
Location: heart centre
Colour: pink and green
Body Connection: This chakra regulates our thymus glands and immune system. It is often blocked by holding grudges, past pain and negative energy, and an inability to forgive.
Healing foods: leafy greens like kale and spinach, broccoli, cucumber, green peppers, jalapenos, zucchini, asparagus, limes, avocado, mint, kiwi, green grapes, green apples, honeydew melons, etc.
Superfoods: spirulina, chlorophyll, matcha tea, wheatgrass.
Fifth Chakra: Vishudda or Throat Chakra
This energy centre connects to our communication in relationships, verbal expression, and the ability to speak our authentic truth.
Location: throat & neck.
Body Connection: when we internalize our suppress our needs, refraining from “speaking up” for ourselves, the energy in this chakra becomes stagnant and can manifest into imbalances with our thyroid, parathyroid glands, neck, jaw, mouth, and tongue.
Healing foods: Purple potatoes, purple cauliflower, purple figs, blueberries, blackberries. Also include natural liquids which are soothing to the throat such as raw honey or coconut water.
Superfoods: blue majik or E3 live.
Sixth Chakra: Anja or Third Eye Chakra
This is the seat of our wisdom, insight, and intuitive perspective; the third eye is the gateway of our higher consciousness and inner realms.
Location: between our eyebrows
Body Connection: governs the pituitary gland, which is crucial for the balance of our endocrine system and hormones. If you’re having a hard time with understanding your purpose, finding clarity or experiencing disconnection from your intuition, it is a result of a third eye chakra that is out of balance or blocked.
Healing foods: any omega 3 rich foods to boost brain power (walnuts, eggs, salmon, flaxseeds), purple onions, eggplant, beets, purple cabbage, purple kale, purple cauliflower, purple figs, blueberries, purple grapes, blackberries, etc.
Superfoods: freeze dried acai powder
Seventh Chakra: Sahaswara or Crown Chakra
Spirituality & Universal Connection
This is the energy centre of enlightenment and our spiritual connection to our higher selves and the divine infinite source. This is the “highest” connection of any of our energy centres, as it opens up communication to the universe.
Location: just above the head, at the crown.
Colour: white or purple.
Body Connection: this chakra regulates our pineal gland, which is the seat of our spiritual or conscious connection, as well as the governor of our circadian (sleep/wake) cycles. A block in this chakra manifests as insomnia, neurological disorders, migraines or headaches, a weakened immune system, and fatigue.
Healing foods: same as third eye chakra: any omega 3 rich foods to boost brain power (walnuts, eggs, salmon, flaxseeds), purple onions, eggplant, beets, purple cabbage, purple kale, purple cauliflower, purple figs, blueberries, purple grapes, blackberries, etc.
Superfoods: freeze dried acai powder, raw cacao nibs (increases magnesium and serotonin – supporting the pineal gland)
**Because the crown chakra is about spiritual connection, you are more likely to fuel this chakra with a conscious lifestyle.
A Word on Conscious Connection
For those ready to ascend – or level up – in life, taking action is not as difficult as it may have once seemed. After reading this blog, it’s easy to see how everything connects; any effort will be a step in the right direction!
Along with a high vibrational diet, a conscious lifestyle is necessary to support. Here are some ways to boost your vitality and chakra systems each day:

- 3-4L water per day
- Cleanses & detox protocols, especially with the season changes.
- Ensuring a balanced life through self care, not overworking.
